The New FAA Agent for Service Rule

As of recent changes under FAA Regulation 14 CFR Part 3, Subpart C all foreign certificate holders must provide a valid U.S. Agent for Service. If you're living outside the U.S. but hold an FAA-issued pilot certificate or authorization, this rule applies to you.

The FAA requires:
  • A U.S.-based mailing address where official correspondence can be sent.
  • A designated agent who can receive and forward official FAA documents on your behalf.
